Yahoo profits top £500m

Revenues leap 12 per cent to £869m

Yahoo's revenues rose $1.76bn (£869m) for the third quarter, up 12 per cent since the same period last year.

Gross profits rose 14 per cent to $103bn (£506m), but net income of $151m (£74.2m) was down slightly from the $159m (£78.2m) reported in Q3 2006.

Marketing services sales totalled $1.54bn (£757m), a 12 per cent rise. Fees revenues reached $224m (£110m), a seven percent increase compared to $210m (£103m) for the same period of 2006.
