Freedom2Surf has joined the ranks of internet service providers (ISPs) offering customers a choice of broadband packages.
In a bid to encourage dial-up users to trade up to broadband, the company has added two new services, Connect and FamilyConnect.
Offering speeds of 512Kbps, the Connect service costs £17.99 per month and has a cap of 1GB per month for downloads. This equates to roughly 200 MP3 music tracks, 650 short videos or 100 large software programs.
The FamilyConnect package also offers 512Kpbs but with a 2GB per month allowance, for £19.99 per month.
Both services includes 20 email addresses and 50MB of web space.
If a user exceeds their limits, Freedom2Surf will charge £2.99 for every extra 1GB downloaded. Users who do not use their allowance can carry over the remainder to the following month.
"We expect this new package to be particularly attractive to dial-up users looking to upgrade to broadband and enjoy the benefits of an always-on connection and increased connectivity," said Chris Panayis, managing director of Freedom2Surf.
